Dulwich Festival

2nd Year students were invited to show their work as part of the annual Dulwich Open House Festival. Houses all over Dulwich open their doors, inviting members of the public to see the work of local artists and designers and show their own art collections. The students are presenting the outcomes of their 'Make It local' project, which focuses on their local community.

Summer 2008

3D MCP students have been commissioned by Gavin Turk to create a ‘Passport Control’ (entrance portal) and ‘Bureau de Change’ (all festival transactions are carried out with a new currency) for an August bank holiday arts festival at Sudeley Castle; the ‘House of Fairy Tales’ presents The ‘Festival of the Creative Act’ on August 23rd-25th.

3D Tate Take Over

In February Level 1 students held an event at the Tate Modern where they took over the bridge and invited the public to Come invent, interact creating 3D landscapes, conquering mazes, constructing furniture, customising a new breed of toys and challenging the artist’s labour. This project was a collaboration with the Tate Modern Raw Canvas Team.

The Sorrel Foundation: Young Design Programme

Throughout the academic year 3dmcp level 1 students have worked with The Sorrel Foundation’s Young Design Programme: a UAL and Sorrel partnership that brings together design teams of undergraduate students and client teams of school pupils to address a design created by pupils about the school environment.

Brockwell Lido

On Mayday 3D Design students ran workshops and exhibited work at Brockwell Lido as part of the heritage open house weekend.

2006

As you may or may not already know a group of students and tutors will be visiting us from the Sandberg Institute in Amsterdam on the 9th of February

We are all meeting for a little tea party at 5.00pm upstairs in the old computer room. Please be around to help prepare. They will do a presentation to introduce themselves and their work and Patrick and Rachel will also do a short presentation. Please let us know if you would like to present something/ make something for the occasion.

Can all the 1st years please come to the studio that day at 1.00pm for a meeting.

The Sandberg Institute is affiliated with the Gerrit Rietveld Academy in Amsterdam


2005

Six out of the eight shortlisted metal-workers competing for their discipline's top UK prize in the Jerwood Applied Arts Prize are graduates or tutors of Camberwell College of Arts. Work by the shortlisted artists was on show at the Crafts Council Gallery in September 2005.

The shortlisted Camberwell artists are graduates Junko Mori, Frances Brennan, David Clarke and Hiroshi Suzuki; and tutors HansStofer and winner Simone ten Hompel.
