Multiple with a soul

I started this project looking at Lego and other mass produced products, particularly toys, which were made out of plastic but still had a "soul". My search led me to a product called Stikfas, which are highly customisable Action Figure kits. Whilst looking at them i noticed that one of the ways that you could customise them was by adding stickers, for the eyes and a variety of other options. I then looked around me and realised that most of my own property was customised by stickers.. for example: my Phone and myLaptop. Looking back, i have been customising my property with stickers for years.. i distinctly remember collecting stickers and putting them all over chairs and suitcases that i owned.

So i decided to go on a field trip! I travelled around Hackney taking pictures of stickers that i saw on the streets, some were advertisements, some were forms of graffiti and some were just plain bizarre.
Here are some pages from my sketchbook documenting my expedition:

Sticker trip 4

Inspired by my sticker journey i began to make my own stickers, and went on to creating lots of arrow stickers, which i had noticed were a large part of my sketchbook, loads of arrows were directing my thoughts. So i made some arrows and stuck them in places and took some photos:
