George Daratzis

Personal Profile

Before joining the 3DMCP course I worked as a freelance artist in Thessaloniki, Greece. During this period the majority of the projects i worked on involved metal wire whether it was spatial designs or sculpural work. Since locating to London I continued to work as a freelance artist with SKK Lighting & exhibited at Designers Block in London in 2001 where I showcased my lighting Designs for SKK. In 2003 I had my first show in London, Morphosis, at the Pall Mall Deposit in West London. "In the works exhibited here, George Daratzis has continued to develop his fascination for elemental material and it’s inherent strength and fragility, to give shape to delicate fantasy forms, striking geometric structure and intricate echoes of nature". The show was successful and i was given private commissions as a result. I like collecting and have an interest in Music with over 2 weeks worth...
