Personal Profile

I was born and grew up in the Czech Republic, small communist country. I believe that this fact influenced my attitudes towards making processes in a positive way as higher level of self sufficiency was generally required. I attended College of Textiles and Fashion where I specialized in knitwear design. During four years I gained wide range of technical skills regarding to garment and knitwear production.

Living in London enabled me to discover 3dimensional design particularly contemporary trends in furniture design. I started to perceived design and function as a way to define our living environment and our needs. The opportunity to study 3D design course at Camberwell College of Arts helped me and motivated me to develop as a creative, independent individual. I learnt how to think about objects that surround us, about their meaning and value in time and space.

My past projects explored a wide range of materials, their potential and manufacturing processes. Through the time I developed interest in craft and traditional techniques as blacksmithing or willow weaving.

In the future I would like to find an employment in small manufacturing business where I could develop and refine my making skills which would be beneficial for my own design practice.
