Make It Local

an exhibition by 2nd Years as part of Dulwhich Fesitval Artist Open House weekends

Open 11am - 6pm, open both weekends 9th,10th - 16th & 17th May

At: 182/4 Court Lane, Dulwhich, London, SE21 7ED

"Global marketing and communication has diminished ‘place’ as a theme worthy of investigation and made it easy to overlook the fact that we form part of a community in the spaces we inhabit everyday.

Three Dimensional Design students from Camberwell College of Arts present here their responses to a brief called Make It Local that asked them to ‘invest’ in their locality. The works are inspired by or designed for spaces, people or organisations within a one mile radius of the College. Some of the results address practical problems while others create memorable experiences to enrich people’s everyday lives. The works reflect an affection for the area by a group of students more keenly aware than most of their social responsibility."

Tim Parsons, Subject Leader, BA Three Dimensional Design
