Welcome to the Afterlife:part of the Grayson Perry Late at the British Museum
On the 11th of November 2011, Rosie, Henry and Virginie - all in the 3rd year, concieved and developed Welcome to the Afterlife project for the Grayson Perry Late at the British Museum event. They were assisted by Pranav, Hee and Joy (2nd Year) and Alfredo, Tim, Jordan, Eunnuri and Qian Ou (1st Year).
Participants were greeted by 'ticket booth' and asked to flip a giant coin. As a result they were given a ticket to board on their journey to the afterlife light or dark side. They were then invited to draw offerings they wished to take with them in the coffins. Once their offerings were ready, they would be dressed with gowns and walked to the appropriate coffin (light and dark again according to their ticket). They asked to lie down in their coffin and the lid closed for a few seconds.
Once the lid opened, they were greeted to the afterlife and walked to a pinning board where they could pin their offerings card up. By the time a few people had taken part a collection of offerings started to grow on wieither side: the ‘bright’ afterlife and the ‘dark’ afterlife.

Somerset House Super Christmas Market
Camberwell 3D Design students were invited by curator Claire Catterall to design, make and sell up to 50 products each, to retail for around £10 a piece. The objects had to make good Christmas gifts but also have a useful life. After a frantic term of activity the products were presented over 4 days in December to willing shoppers.
Design Real at the Serpentine Gallery
Renouned industrial designer and curator of the exhibition Design Real at the Serpentine Gallery Konstantin Grcic asked Camberwell 3D Design students to assist with researching a range of objects for the exhibition's website. The site,
www.design-real.com shows information about each of the 43 products Grcic selected for the show. Camberwell 3D students researched and edited text and images about the objects and related themes, creating a rich range of material. The site was viewable in the exhibition via Amazon's Kindle electronic book readers.
